Mandy Elliott
Member of the Institute of Sport and Remedial Massage
Mandy decided to train as a massage therapist after remedial massage treatment helped her through her own back and neck pain.
Mandy works 3 days/week in private practice at Odyssey Clinic, Cubbington, and 2 days/week as a Massage Therapist at Tiny Tim's Children's Centre Coventry, who provide free therapies for children aged 0-18, with disabilities and special needs. Massage for children with or without special needs is also offered in Leamington at the standard treatment rate.
For more than ten years, Mandy has consistently exceeded the annual industry requirement for continued training and amassed an in-depth knowledge of anatomy, biomechanics, functional movement, neuro-muscular connections and a catalogue of advanced massage and rehabilitation techniques.
Mandy is committed to working within each person's easy tolerance, using deep tissue massage techniques up to that 'hurts good' level of response, so that the body can remain in a relaxed state, allow tension to release and the healing process to move forward.
Mandy is dedicated to helping you help yourself and will often recommend stretches and exercises to fit in with your lifestyle. As a preference Mandy uses a system of creative movement strategies, which involves recalibrating basic movement patterns. The joyful simplicity of this approach means you can find lots of opportunities within your normal routines to retrain your body and leave your leotard where it lies! Any rehab advice will be demonstrated before you leave, to assist with home practice. If appropriate, Mandy may signpost you to other forms of exercise, therapies or theories that might help you get to where you want to be.
